St. Francis De Sales School, Pasighat was established by the Missionaries of St. Francis De Sales (MSFS) of North East India Province, in collaboration with Missionary Sisters of Mary Help of Christians with the motto “Light to Enlighten”. Frs. Thomas Kollathuvayalil and Jose Karipadam began the strides to establish a school. Fr. Jose Karipadam the first principal and Sr. Cresentia Minj, the headmistress actualized the dream of having a school at Pasighat on 1st June 1999 with 40 students on roll.
With sheer hard work, dedication, and hard work the school accelerated to travel glories of success, achievements and accomplishments. The school is proud have all the Principals, Fr. Augustine Thundathil, Fr. Simon Thaiko and Fr. George Poothankunnel. They were well supported by Frs. Reji Kizhaketharakal, Bernard Sangma, Stephen Pao, James Pezhathumootil, Varghese Prackuzhy, Genes Shangpliang, John Burman, Antony Ittikattil, Panii Paul and Jacob Raising. They also received wholehearted collaboration from Srs. Melani, Stella, Bhanumati and Yajo.
At present Fr. Biju Paul M. has shouldered the responsibility as Principal and Sr. Anita as the Headmistress. They are well assisted by Fr. Antony Ettikattil. The school has 22 teaching staff, six non-teaching staff and over one thousand students on the roll. The School is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education. All the batches have kept up the tradition of 100% results till date.
The school commits to uphold the values of secularism, democracy, justice, liberty and fraternity in all matters concerning the socio-economic and cultural life of the individual and the society. It has been catering to the educational and academic requirements of students with an uncompromising emphasis on quality education.
